We had another Books & Badges first--our first time reading to kids via a Zoom-type meeting. Columbus Division of Police Officer Heidi Graber (13 Precinct, South Side) loves reading to the kiddos so much that she went to Southwood Elementary School and read to them via their Google Classroom app. She said it was a real treat to see their little faces peering back at her from their homes. One student even asked the teacher for permission to introduce her to her younger cousin.
Like the rest of our officers, she's looking forward to resuming regular Books & Badges readings, but this was a very fun substitute.
