As the new school year approaches, we're thrilled to announce that our 2023 bookbag project is in full swing! With the combined efforts of generous sponsors and our dedicated team, we are on track to put together more than 500 bags this year.
We're so excited to be able to do this, especially because The Columbus Dispatch reported today that the cost of school supplies reached record levels this year.
A lot of people are working together to make this special project happen. Thanks to the Cincinnati Division of the FBI, who held a very successful school supply drive for us, Columbus Division of Police, who are always there to provide resources and logistical support (SO important!), Walmart Columbus - West Pointe Plaza for all their hard work and their financial support, and other amazing sponsors, Byers Airport Subaru, CME Federal Credit Union, The Cooper Family Foundation, and individual Starfish supporters. You're all wonderful, and we appreciate you so much!
We'll be sharing more pictures of this project as we stuff the bags and get them out to officers and agents, so stay tuned. More fun to come!
While all of these bags have been allocated, we understand the importance of accessible school supplies, and The Columbus Dispatch article has listed some local options. Franklin County Children Services FamJam on August 6 at Goodale Park from 12-3pm is an excellent opportunity, rain or shine. In addition, the Columbus City Schools resource fair for CCS students will take place on August 19 at Fort Hayes, 546 Jack Gibbs Blvd. Be sure to check out the details on the CCS website and register in advance.
Thank you all for your incredible support and love! Together, we can make a real difference and help set students up for a successful school year.
