Assignment: Shoes For a Child

Recently, Columbus Division of Police Officer Heidi Graber (13 Precinct, South Side) was guarding a murder scene when she struck up a conversation with a little boy who was riding his bike nearby. She noticed he was riding without shoes and asked him about it. He said the only ones he had were too big for him. She mentioned this to us, and we encouraged her to buy the child a pair of shoes, which she did as soon as she was released from the scene (after checking with his mom to figure out his size and asking him what his favorite color is).

We were able to sponsor this (thanks to your donations to our emergency fund), but Ofc Graber did all the legwork on it. She saw the need and she filled the need, much to the delight of this little guy. 💙
