Attorney General Awards

Congratulations to Columbus Division of Police Officer Shawn Lutz, who today received the Ohio Distinguished Law Enforcement Community Service Award from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

South Side Neighborhood Liaison Katherine Cull and CPD Lieutenant Paul Szabo organized a nomination that included letters from many who have been touched by Officer Lutz, including Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and CPD Assistant Chief Greg Bodker. We are honored that letters from three Starfish leaders were part of the nomination package, and four of us were there today to see Officer Lutz receive this much-deserved award. (So many that we didn't get pictures of everyone!)

It was a fun event filled with friends, hugs, and joy, and it was made even better when we found out that TWO other officers we've worked with were also receiving awards! One of them is an undercover detective, so we don't want to divulge any information about him. The other is Sergeant Lindsey Alli, who has worked with us for years, helping in huge ways with projects like the AEP Ohio Coat Drive, always with a smile on her face, just like you see in the picture here.

We are grateful to be in the presence of such amazing individuals. From the people who take time to recognize great work, to the ones who identify needs, to the ones who support efforts in big and small ways, to the ones who are out there trying to make a difference, and the ones who are ALL of those--thank you!
