Yesterday, we shared our Q&A with Lt. Mark Elliott of the Marion Police Department. Today, it's time to hear from his partner, K9 Ranger.
Ranger is a valued member of the Marion team, and we love having him join us for Starfish events. He’s got strong opinions, a lot of energy, and, as you’ll see, a pretty great sense of humor.
Check out his Q&A below. You’ll see why he’s such an important part of the team.

Behind the Badge Officer Q&A
Q: Please tell us a little about yourself.
A: I am from the Netherlands, I was imported by Storm Dog Tactical and my partner picked me out. I've been with Lt. Elliott for two years and I kinda like him.
Q: What inspired you to become a police officer?
A: I was born to do this. My parents and my brother and sisters were all selected just for this kind of work. I love what I do and would rather be at work with my partner than anywhere else.
Q: What's your favorite memory on the job?
A: The first time I met my partner. I tried to bite him.
Q: What's one part of your job that might surprise people?
A: When I go home in the mornings. My mom takes my vest and all my other equipment off of me and rubs my belly for 10 minutes, it's GREAT!
Q: Do you have a favorite Starfish Assignment memory or event?
A: Hanging out with all the athletes at the Special Olympics!
Q: When you're off duty, what do you enjoy doing?
A: Playing with my toys, sneaking carrots and ice cubes from my mom.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you received when you were young?
A: BITE HARD AND DRIVE.
Q: Do you like donuts?
A: YES!
