We're thrilled to announce the launch of our new program, Books & Badges en español! This week, four Spanish-speaking officers from Columbus Division of Police visited St Mary Magdalene School. They read Spanish books to the delighted students, gave each child a copy of the book to take home and enjoy, and answered questions about police work.
It was a beautiful day filled with smiles, fun, and hugs. The children's faces lit with joy when the officers spoke to them in their native language, and the officers had an equally wonderful time interacting with their new friends. (One officer even showed off his merengue skills!)
We are overjoyed to bring this program to life and look forward to many more events like this in the future with CPD and with our other partner agencies. Programs like Books & Bages en español can help build bridges and nurture a strong bond between our Spanish-speaking youth and the men and women who serve and protect them. We love being able to play a part in this.
A big shout-out to the students and staff at St. Mary Magdalene and the fantastic CPD officers for making this day not just special, but unforgettable. Here's to many more moments of joy and unity!
