Today, in a heartwarming surprise party, our dear friend, Columbus Division of Police Officer Shawn Lutz, learned he's the recipient of the Ohio Distinguished Law Enforcement Community Service Award! Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost will present this prestigious award to him this October during the Ohio Attorney General’s 2023 Law Enforcement Conference.
Officer Lutz's passion and commitment to the community shine bright, touching hearts not just in his assigned patrol area of South Linden, but across Columbus. We're so grateful to Katherine Cull from the Department of Neighborhoods Columbus and CPD Lieutenant Paul Szabo for spearheading the nomination for this honor.
Our team at Starfish is proud to have been involved--three of our leaders penned recommendation letters! Officer Lutz has been a cornerstone of most of our events for years, consistently going above and beyond to assist, advise, and troubleshoot. Knowing him and working alongside him is an absolute joy.
