Columbus Division of Police Officer Nathan Hanna recently responded to a heartbreaking call. A mother of two, already struggling to get by, was scammed by someone pretending to be from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. They convinced her she had a warrant and needed to pay bond immediately, using detailed personal information to make their story believable. Terrified she would lose her children, her home, and her job, she handed over everything she had: the money set aside for rent, food, diapers, and even savings she had been building for a year to take her kids to Disney World.
Thanks to the swift action of Officer Hanna and the incredible generosity of our supporters, we immediately provided the family with food, diapers, and other urgent necessities. We're now focused on helping this mother recover and regain stability.
We're deeply grateful to Officer Hanna for his compassion and dedication, and to our supporters who consistently step up to help families through unimaginable challenges.
