A very special Books & Badges collaboration took place last week. Dedicated law enforcement officers from the Licking County Sheriff's Office, Johnstown Police Department, Pataskala PD, and Heath Police Department came together to read to the children at Hope Valley's Heroes for Hope summer camp program. After the readings, each child not only had a chance to ask questions about the policing, but they each got to go home with a copy of the book--autographed by "their" officer/deputy!
We want to give a shout-out to Chief Smart and the rest of our friends at Johnstown, PD: this was their very first Books & Badges since partnering with us the week before. What a wonderful way to begin!
Thank you to all the officers and deputies involved for planting seeds of positivity and knowledge in these young minds. This collaboration not only nurtures a passion for reading but also cultivates a deeper connection between our local law enforcement officers and the community they serve.
