Lazelle Woods Bike Drive

We made new friends and saw old ones at our bike drive at Lazelle Woods Community Center yesterday. It was a beautiful evening, and we had such a good time! Officers from Columbus Division of Police and Hilliard Division of Police greeted the generous members of the community who donated their gently used bikes. We even had a designated bicycle tester, who came equipped with a stylish unicorn helmet. She let us know what repairs needed to be made to the bicycles (air in the tires, poor brakes). Her services were invaluable, and we thank her for her input!

These bikes, like the ones donated by our friends in Dublin, are being repaired by CPD officers and will be given out by officers through Columbus Recreation and Parks Department centers in a few weeks. This will be our third year of Bikes & Badges, and so far we've given out more than 500 bikes to children across the city.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, especially Lazelle Woods Center Manager Lance Barber, and his team, who already invited us to have another drive there next year. Isn't that the sweetest?
