30 Days of Kindness: Day 7

Our friend, Columbus Division of Police Officer James Poole is featured in the latest edition of the Greater Eastside Coalition newsletter. It reads, "This week we would like to highlight the work of one of our great leaders who could be considered a founding member. Officer James Poole, 20th Precinct Liaison for the Columbus Police Department. Most Eastside community leaders and advocates can hardly remember a time without Officer Poole. There have been very few that have led the calling he has in helping unite, rejuvenate, strengthen and support the Greater Eastside. Helping form and gather block watches across the eastside, to encouraging the upstart of our Area Commissions, working with area businesses to connect and advocate for development and infrastructure. Always willing to help someone in need, and even rescuing a 5-year-old drowning victim, saving his life 23 years ago. Working with Starfish Assignment to identify the needs of those in his community, whose motto is—No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. Thank you, Officer Poole, our Greater Eastside Coalition recognizes one of its brightest beacons of hope and safety."

We agree that Ofc Poole is a force for good, not just on the East Side, but in all of Columbus, and we are very happy to work with him. Today, try to recognize someone who's made a difference in your life or community, even if it's only through a text or an email to let them know that you appreciate them.

Since everyone needs a happy moment, especially now, here's a link to the story about the 5-year-old that Ofc Poole saved from drowning.
