We are excited and proud to announce our partnership with Hilliard Division of Police. As you can see, they are eager to start reading to children as part of our Books & Badges program. Hilliard Chief of Police Robert Fisher is friends with Starfish Board member and Columbus Division of Police Deputy Chief Tim Becker, so this was a particularly fun visit for us.
A very gracious host, Chief Fisher walked us out to the parking lot. He explained to us that the flagpole outside police headquarters is one of five that was still standing outside the World Trade Center after the September 11 terrorist attacks. The other four are all at the Pentagon now. How wonderful that the fifth is here in Hilliard. The full story of how this happened is available here.
